I won’t continue to harp on how hard last year was, but I did want to share just few things in my life that were magnified for me. These few points are lessons I plan to hold onto a little closer with intentionality.
- Community: Last year really made me appreciate my loved ones even more. Though I had to settle for FaceTime with some and others I got to hug in person, those safe and loving relationships provided a soft landing on days I felt as if I were free falling. Being able to connect with those who genuinely know and see my heart meant so much.
- Self-Care: As I mentioned in a post last year, my sleep was really off last year. It started when the pandemic hit the states. I think it was a combination of cabin fever, increased responsibility of homeschooling, the news, you name it, we saw a lot last year. Getting really intentional about self-care was something I really enjoyed exploring and actually helped me feel more grounded. Check out my last blog post to read about my self-care journey.
- Boundaries: Last year the importance of having boundaries in every area of my life was so vital. I’ve learned that boundaries have deserved way more attention than I’ve ever gave them in the past. Looking back, I see how lacking boundaries left me open to a lot of unnecessary pain and frustration. Boundaries have given a certain level of resolve that I’ve never experience before. Whether it’s physical, emotional, relational, the list goes on, I see how much healthy boundaries have helped me thrive.
