The Venue
Berry Bomb Selfie Spot is located at Triangle Town Center and is Raleigh’s first selfie store! Berry Bomb Selfie Spot has over 20 colorful installations all designed for you to enjoy taking the perfect selfie. What I love about this selfie studio is that you can be anywhere your imagination takes you. I see selfie studios as curated offline experiences, more than just a photo shoot, it’s a whole affair! Whether you’re on a date night or out with friends, Berry Bomb is the perfect spot to commemorate the moment.
The Curated Event & Dream Team
Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to participate in a curated photo shoot at Berry Bomb Selfie Spot! Watching all the creatives come together was such an amazing sight to see. A team of models, photographers, makeup artists, wardrobe stylists, hair stylists, nail technician, content creators, and vendors all came together to create something beautiful. It was like everyone had a superpower, and united to capture eye catching images, they were unstoppable.
It was so inspiring to see each person passionately working in their craft. I think that often it’s easy to sweep our gifts under the rug and hesitate to pursue our dreams. Maybe because our natural giftings seem small, or maybe it’s a fear of stepping out, or a lack of opportunity, but the first step can be hard. I also think sometimes it’s so easy to overlook your own superpower. We need community to help shine a light to take those necessary steps toward the future. This amazing team of creatives all worked together to collectively step forward in their crafts.
The Creative Director’s Vision
I asked the Creative Director and visionary behind the shoot, Jessica, what inspired her vision and here’s what she said:
“The vision for the Rich Girl shoot was influenced by iconic movies like Mean Girls and all the music videos I would watch of girl groups or female artists with eye catching visuals that drew my attention. From the outfits to the props to the scenery, it all flowed together perfectly. For this shoot, I knew I wanted to challenge myself by putting together my first meetup event with a large group of creatives. I also really enjoy partnering with local businesses and providing engaging and unique photos or visuals that best represent their brand. Also, showcasing the work of other creatives like designers, photographers, stylists and MUA’s gives them the opportunity to get their work seen by more than one person. Overall, everyone had an important role to play, and I am beyond grateful to the creative team for bringing their talents together to create magic.”
Vision from a Stylist
I also asked one of the dynamic stylists, Dianne, what inspired her vison behind some of the looks for the shoot, and what she loves most about being a stylist. Here’s what she said:
“When I first visited the Berry Bomb Selfie Spot, I was impressed by the level of thoughtfulness behind the concept of each station. I knew immediately that I wanted to dress each model in a way that would allow them to shine individually. When I was a kid, I loved playing Bratz dolls because they each had their own personality and style. My goal was to dress every model as if they were a life-size Bratz doll.
As a stylist, I love that I can bring out my clients’ best attributes and boost their confidence. I embrace different patterns, color, or texture in clothing and believe there are no rules to fashion. While on set at the “Rich Girl Shoot”, one of my models told me that she was “surprised by how great she looked in bright colors” and that she felt “the most confident she’s ever felt.” It’s responses like her’s that make my job fulfilling. “
To anyone that decides to work with me, you might be coached out of your comfort zone, but I promise you will love the transformation.”
My Final Thought
I’ve been inspired to take leaps of faith towards the vision I have for my life. My question to you is, are walking towards your vision?
